Daniel Steenstra Biography For Sale

This book details Daniel’s life in chronological order from his childhood to retirement. It celebrates his contribution not only to Crown Lynn but an array of studio potteries he worked for including Beach Artware and P.D Lowrie. The origins of Daniel’s skills and knowledge is outlined and traces 5 generations who worked at 3 principle potteries in Friesland, Holland. Daniel brought to New Zealand a type of pottery carving called Snijwerk which was invented by his Great Uncle Kees. A chapter is dedicated to pottery items produced by Daniel for his family. There are also some surprises presented in the book including anecdotal stories, a self reflection and drawings.

The book is presented in A5 format, spiral bound (to allow the book to lay flat), with 80 pages of colour and black and white photos.

This is the first published works by Dominicus who is Daniels son. The book took over 3 years to compile and write . The author is grateful to the large number of contributors and generous permissions given.
